Falkirk and District Philatelic Society is an award-winning branch of the Scottish philately scene and celebrated its 50th anniversary this year.
The group, which has around 30 regular members, is a large and very active stamp club for the study of stamps and encouragement of stamp collecting in Falkirk and the surrounding area.
It has remained informal and friendly over the past five decades and all stamp collectors are welcome to visit meetings, with annual subscription just £11.
The society has its own library of close to 200 stamp catalogues and reference books with many different types of philatelic publications loaned free of charge to members who share their knowledge and knowhow, voice opinions about their hobby and discuss how they can introduce stamp collecting to a wider – and younger – audience.
Members are also encouraged to build their collections through the club’s ‘exchange packet’ section for the buying and selling of stamps.
