Elderly in Falkirk area left high and dry

ELDERLY residents have had a 'dry' festive period after their water was cut off.

The householders, who live in the Powfoulis area, close to the Kincardine Bridge, suddenly found their supply had dried up on

Christmas Eve.

Despite repeated calls to Scottish Water, the first bottled water supplied by the utility company didn't arrive until eight days later.

Around half a dozen properties, including farms, are involved and

he youngest resident is understood to be in their 70s, with one almost 90.

However, Scottish Water maintained that the problem lay outwith its

mains network and fixing it was the responsibilty of the factor.
