Drivers told to take care at Camelon corner

Fed-up residents fear someone is going to be killed unless motorists change their driving habits.

People living in Watling Street, Camelon are fed up with vehicles ending up in their gardens after drivers fail to negotiate the bend when coming along Brown Street. There have been several near misses with pedestrians having to jump to safety.

Isabel Mawhinnie of 14 Watling Street said concerns grew after the third incident saw a people carrier end up in the garden of No.10.

Councillor Gerry Goldie said: “I’ve been contacted by residents and been in touch with the council’s roads department. But people coming along Brown Street have to be aware this is a junction and drive accordingly.”

The latest incident is understood to have been caused by mechanical failure.
