Young Bairns are being given a chance to show their mums just how much they care.
With Mother’s Day just around the corner, The Falkirk Herald has teamed up with the Howgate Shopping Centre once again to offer youngsters a chance to win some great prizes simply by putting pens – or crayons – to paper and drawing their mum.
The annual competition is a great way for everyone to see how mums look through the eyes of their children.
This year, we’re inviting youngsters to make their entries look like the front of a Mother’s Day card, and they can include a greeting to go with the drawing of their mum.
The competition is open to readers under the age of 16, and entries will fall into two categories, under-sevens and eight plus.
Every entry will be featured in a gallery being set up in the Howgate Shopping Centre.
And, on March 27, The Falkirk Herald will publish a special Draw Your Mum supplement, giving all our readers a chance to vote for their favourites.
When all the votes from readers and shoppers are in, each winner will be presented with a £100 Howgate gift card so they can spoil their mum or treat themselves.
Falkirk Herald editor Colin Hume said: “With Mother’s Day on March 30, we’re all thinking about how we can make our mums feel special.
“Everyone at The Falkirk Herald loves this competition, and we all enjoy looking at the entries sent in by our young creative readers.”
Howgate Marketing Manager Margaret Foy said: “This is always a really popular competition, so the Howgate is delighted to be sponsoring it once again.
“The entries in the gallery at the Howgate always bring a smile to everyone’s faces.”
