The next meeting of the Lower Braes Community Council will be held on Wednesday, March 5 at 7 p.m. in Westquarter Primary School. This will be a special meeting to consider proposed changes to the local Post Office service and the relocation of the existing service to the Costcutter Store in Redding Road, Westquarter. All are welcome to attend. Please come along.
Last Sunday’s service was conducted by Rev. Mary Henderson. The sermon was on ‘Contagious Compassion’ with the readings from Genesis 45 and New Testament readings were from Mathew 5 and Romans 12. They were read by Mrs Linda Steven. After the service the Stated Annual Meeting of the Congregation was held. This Sunday’s service will be at 11.30 a.m. when the Sacrament of Holy Communion will be celebrated. Congregational Board meet on Wednesday, March 5 at 7 p.m. followed by a Kirk Session meeting. The guild meet in the hall on Tuesday, March 4 at 1 p.m. for lunch. Open to non guild members. All welcome. Thursday starts the Lent Study Group in Laurieston Church Hall at 2.30 p.m. (Session room). Friday is the World Day of Prayer held in Slamannan Church at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 8 there will be a stewardship training meeting in Dunipace from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
