An archaeological project aiming to find a long-lost 16th century royal dockyard is calling for volunteers.
The project, organised by Inner Forth Landcape Initiative, at Higgins Neuk, Airth, hopes to find the dockyard that was built by James IV around 1505 to fit out his navy.
There is a public meeting on Thursday (September 15) at 6.30pm in Airth Community Hall for anyone interested.
Next Saturday, September 24, there will be a guided walk around the site to point out the areas of interest, meeting at Higgins Neuk at 10.30am. Over the weekend of October 8-10 they will be doing the fieldwork to prepare for the excavation.
