A planning dispute won’t close The Criterion.
Sunshine Foods had applied to convert the long-established bar in Stirling Street into a takeaway.
Falkirk Council planners threw out the application last year, claiming that it would cause more traffic problems at the already busy Denny Cross.
Last week the Scottish Government Reporter overturned that ruling on appeal, saying the conversion could go ahead.
However, bar owner Harry Dillion said that despite the decision The Criterion would not be closing and would remain open as a pub.
