Denny Old

Worship on Sunday is at 11 a.m. and will be led by Sandra Mathers. Creche facilities will be available. The church walking group meets on Tuesday and leaves the church at 7 p.m. You are welcome to come along and enjoy a gentle walk for about an hour. Deposits for the Melrose holiday are now due, and if you still have to pay, please see Linda Assur as soon as possible. All articles for the June edition of the church magazine should be passed to Elinor Clunie as soon as possible please. Advance notice is given of a Kirk Session meeting on Monday, June 23 at 7.30 p.m. in the hall.

Baptist Church

The Point Youth Clubs meet tomorrow (Friday) at 6 p.m. for juniors and at 7.30 p.m. for senior pupils. The services on Sunday at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. will be led by Rev. Norman Graham. Visitors are always welcome. Prize giving for the children will be held during the morning service and Communion will be observed during the evening service.

Westpark Church

Worship on Sunday will be at 10.30 a.m. will be led by Rev. Phyllis Wilson. Kidzone take part at the start of the service then move to the halls to enjoy their own activities. Creche facilities are also available. The Wednesday Welcome is open from 10 a.m. for fellowship over tea or coffee followed by a short service from 11.15 - 11.45 a.m. Please note that the Open Door is open on a Thursday from 10.30 a.m. to 1 p.m. for tea, coffee and lunch. There is a choice of two soups, main course, sandwiches, sweet or fruit loaf at reasonable prices. All welcome.

Masonic News

The next cabaret featuring a tribute to Lionel Ritchie and Motown is on Saturday, June 28. Tickets can be booked through Lesley at the bar on Monday, Friday or Saturday or Helen on social media. Last Thursday RMW Kevin McLean led a fine deputation to Saltcoats. On Friday a Cork ceremony with eight candidates was undertaken by Stirling Rock No. 2 Royal Arch Cork Lodge. The magnificent sum of £853 was raised for The Tiny Tabitha Fund, who work tirelessly to support the Forth Valley Hospital neonatal unit in looking after prematurely born babies.

Citizens Advice

The bureau is located above Clydesdale Bank at 24 Duke Street, Denny and is open today (Thursday), Friday, Monday and Wednesday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. A legal clinic is held every four weeks on Wednesdays by appointment only (4-5 p.m.). Outreach clinics are held at the Community Education Wing at Bankier Primary School today (Thursday) from 10 a.m.-noon, at Bridge Crescent Community Flat on Tuesday from 9.30 a.m.-noon and Denny Parish Church Hall on Wednesday from 9.30 a.m.-11.30 a.m. Sessions to complete online benefit applications are held at the Community Education Wing at Bankier Primary School on Thursday from 10 a.m.-noon and the Bridge Crescent Community Flat on Tuesday from 1-3 p.m. Telephone service (Citizens Advice Direct) available Monday-Friday from 9 a.m.-8 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on (01324) 823118.

Wine Club

The next meeting of Denny Wine Club takes place tomorrow (Friday) in the Broompark Centre and subsequently on the second Friday of each month. New members always welcome. Come along to learn all levels of winemaking, from beginners to advanced.

Line Dancing

Next class takes place tomorrow (Friday) in the Broompark Centre from 1-2 p.m. Beginners and improvers welcome.

Buggy Group

Drop In

Last Friday was a lot busier, and thanks to everyone who came along and supported us. This week there is the usual glass painting, pool table, tea and coffee, also new stock of thriller books to read or take away. Book exchanges available. If you have a good book, why not bring it along and swap it. Also there is now a Sony Playstation machine available with a range of games. Toys are available for children while parents/carers enjoy a cup of tea/coffee. Donations of good quality clothing, nursery items, baby wear, household items are all needed and can be passed onto customers who need a bit of support.
