Masonic news

A regular meeting of Lodge St. Andrew (Denny & Loanhead) No. 176 will be held tonight (Thursday) at 7.30 p.m. when the business will include the Master Masons degree. Last Friday, RWM Kevin McLean led nine pipers into the Lodge for a pipers degree. Over 100 members and visitors assembled for the unique occasion and were suitably enthralled by the ceremony and pipe playing as one candidate was raised as a Mast Master. PG Master Bro. Andrew A. McKinnon led deputation from Provisional Grand Lodge of Stirlingshire which included Grand Lodge Piper. Although an emergency meeting, the death of PM Jack McIntosh was acknowledged in momentary silence, with a full tribute at tonight’s meeting. After the meeting a short harmony featured more pipes, this time with drum, and some excellent entertainment. Tickets for the Pat Cairns cabaret featuring the music of Kenny Rogers and Neil Diamond on Saturday, May 3, can be reserved through Lesley at the bar or Helen on social media.
