Nine primary schools, 27 baton relays, 2000 cheering spectators - and one baton.
That was the number of those taking part in the relay on May 29 around Denny, Bonnybridge and Banknock to mark next month’s Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
The 5.5 mile route began at Bankier and made its way through St Joseph’s, Antonine and Bonnybirdge schools.
It then was carried by pupils from Head of Muir, Denny and St Patrick’s primaries before heading to its final destination in Dunipace.
The relay runners were cheered on by thousands of pupils and passersby, before being welcomed to Dunipace Primary by a performance from the school’s band and glee club.
The event was organised as part of ‘Falkirk’s Going For Gold’, an initiative from the Falkirk Active Schools team which encourage pupils and the wider community to engage with major sporting events such as the Olympic and Commonwealth Games.
