One of last week’s pictures triggered happy memories for Polmont’s Linda Hogg who was a proud Brownie in the 1970s in Maddiston.
Linda, who is pictured in the back row right next to Brown Owl Jean McCarthy (nee Mitchell), reckons the photograph was taken in the village’s Salvation Army Hall in either 1973 or ‘74 when she was seven or eight.
She said: “I cannot remember the names of the other girls, because it was so very long ago, with the exception of the other Brownie next to me who is Ruth Cherry.
“My mum and I were trying to work out the exact year and the best we can remember is around 1973/74.
“It was great to see this picture in the Falkirk Herald - a flash back to my younger days in Maddiston. I hope all the Brownies in this picture are well and remember the Brownie promise.”
