Residents in three different households in Wallacestone have returned home from work to find their homes burgled.
The break-ins happened in the late afternoon or early evening in Comyn Drive over the past few weeks with items from the houses being stolen in each incident.
Police are advising residents to be vigilant and are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
Inspector Chris Stewart said: “We believe that these offences have taken place in the late afternoon or early evening, where opportunist thieves have forced entry to houses when they’re empty and under the cover of darkness now that the nights are drawing in.
“I want to speak to anyone who may have noticed any persons or vehicles in this area acting suspiciously at this time of day since the end of October, and would appeal for continued vigilance in the area.
“If you’re not going to return home from work before it gets dark, put your lights on timers to give the impression that your house is occupied and make sure any ‘dusk til dawn’ or PIR lights are in working order.”
Anyone with information about the housebreakings should contact Police Scotland on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
