Two drivers were involved in a road rage incident on a busy section of motorway near Denny which has prompted a police 
investigation.

It took place at around 1.40 p.m. on Wednesday, December 3 on the northbound carriageway of the M876 between juction two at Checkbar and junction one at North Broomage.

The driver of a black Mercedes and a silver Vauxhall Corsa were involved in an altercation which resulted in the vehicles colliding and then stopping on the hard shoulder, where police attended.

Officers are now appealing for witnesses.

Sergeant Andrew Thomson said: “This incident on one of the main motorways in central Scotland could have had serious consequences. Thankfully, this did not result in a serious collision.

“I am keen to establish the series of events that occurred before and after the vehicles stopped on the hard shoulder. We are asking motorists who were on the road and witnessed the vehicles’ interaction to come forward immediately.”
