The death of a 31-year-old man in Polmont is being investigated by police.

Forensic officers are currently carrying out enquiries at the man’s house, which has been cordoned off, near the shops in Station Road where his body was found this morning.

Police Scotland is treating the death as “unexplained”. The nearby Brightons Inn and part of Waggon Road has also been cordoned off as part of the investigation.

The man has been named locally as Martin McAllister.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Police in Forth Valley Division are investigating after a 31-year-old man was found dead within his home address in Station Road on Tuesday, October 1.

“Enquiries to establish the man’s previous movements will result in police activity within the Brightons area and the local community is thanked for their co-operation and support.

“The death is currently being treated as unexplained and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.”
