The shop at the centre of a bomb scare earlier this week has been boarded up by police.

There were concerns in Camelon that the computer store had been targeted after Wednesday’s major operation when the street was sealed off for around three hours.

Emergency services had rushed to Michrotech 2000 in Main Street after police officers involved in a fraud investigation discovered a “suspicious package”.

Along with police, fire and ambulance crews, Royal Logistic Corps bomb disposal experts were called out.

However, around 4.15pm and after a bomb disposal robot had been sent into the premises, the all clear was given.

Yesterday, the shop owner, who declined to be named, said he had been detained by police for over seven hours before being released without charge.

Police have now confirmed that they have had the shop boarded up while their investigations continue.
