Man arrested for alleged hit-and-run incident

A man has been charged for an alleged hit-and-run car incident which left a family in hospital.

The incident happened in Gartcows Road at the junction with Majors Loan, a notorious accident blackspot, on Tuesday evening at around 10.08pm.

A man, woman and young girl had to be cut out of their Volvo V50 by fire fighters following the collision with a grey Volkswagen Golf GTI.

The driver of the Golf is alleged to have fled the scene on foot afterwards.

The woman sustained serious injuries and remains in a stable condition while the male was treated for minor injuries.

The girl sustained minor injuries and was also taken to hospital for treatment.

The 25-year-old suspect is scheduled to appear at Falkirk Sheriff Court today.
