Police are not treating the discovery of a body in a house in a quiet village street as suspicious.

Dundarroch Street in Larbert was sealed off around teatime on Monday, October 26, after officers responded to a report someone had died.

A woman was later discovered dead in a property and an investigation got underway.

The area was cordoned off and still closed to traffic the next day as a forensic team painstakingly searched the area for clues.

In an initial statement, Police Scotland said: “Police in Forth Valley are investigating following the death of a 37-year-old woman at an address in Dundarroch Street reported at 7.45pm on October 26. Enquiries are currently ongoing and the death is being treated as unexplained. A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”

This week it confirmed: “Enquiries are continuing, but the death is not believed to be suspicious.”

The woman has been named locally as former Larbert High pupil Allison Kirk from 35 Dundarroch Street.
