A crazed monster is now behind bars after carrying out a horrific attack on the woman he kept prisoner in her own flat.
Jamie Alexander (28) put his victim through a terrifying ordeal after she told him he could not spend the night at her home. He flew into a rage and punched, kicked and headbutted her, threatened her with a knife and even held a burning hot iron close to her face.
Her screams for help alerted neighbours, who called the police. The incident was still going on when officers arrived.
Appearing at the High Court in Glasgow on Wednesday, Alexander previously pled guilty to the assault and abduction he committed at the flat in Falkirk on August 10 last year.
His victim was later treated for fractures around her eye and jaw area and now has a metal plate in her face which has affected her speech.
The court heard unemployed Alexander already had a string of convictions for violence and possessing offensive weapons.
He will be sentenced on February 24 in Edinburgh.
