Disgraced former Falkirk MP Eric Joyce escaped a jail sentence for an assault on two teenagers.
The 54-year-old was given a suspended sentence this morning at Westminster Magistrate’s Court.
Earlier this month he was found guilty of the attack on the two boys which took place on October 17 last year at a corner shop in north London.
Joyce was sentenced to 10 weeks imprisonment suspended for two years and ordered to pay costs of £1080. The costs include £200 compensation to one boy and £50 to the other victim. He was also enrolled on a rehabilitation order.
Speaking outside the court, the former MP said: “I think that is a fair outcome.”
