A Falkirk man has appeared in court charged in connection with an armed robbery at a service station this month.

The Murco Bowhouse petrol station near Maddiston was raided on Friday, February 13 at around 9.45 p.m. when a man wearing a balaclava demanded cash from staff.

“Various items” were taken during the incident after a 32-year-old man was robbed at knifepoint, according to Forth Valley police.

A report has been sent to the Procurator Fiscal and 44-year-old George Rowan Dunsmore appeared at court today facing two charges.

One was for assault and robbery and the other for the possession of a controlled drug under the Misuse Drugs Act 1971 S5(2).

He made no plea or declaration and was given bail. The case was continued for further examination.
