A 39-year-old man has been arrested after a child was abducted for “a matter of minutes” on Saturday evening.

The incident took place at 8.50 p.m. in Woodburn Crescent, Bonnybridge, when the child, who was accompanied by another adult, was abducted by the male for a short time.

The man is expected to appear at Falkirk Sheriff Court today.

Police are appealing for anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area of Woodburn Crescent, which is close to Seabegs Road and a short walk from Antonine Primary School, to contact them.

DI Hugh Louden said: “I would like to reassure the community that we have a man in custody and there is no danger to members of the public.

“Anyone who does have concerns or would like to report any suspicious activity should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers pm 0800 555111.”
