And to the coincide with the event Falkirk’s Howgate Shopping Centre is searching for the sporting stars of the future through its Wee Champions initiative.

Marketing manager Margaret Foy said: “We’ve already got some great nominations but people have until June 22 to get them in so we’re hoping for even more.
‘‘From athletics to zumba and from badminton to yachting, we want to find local children and teenagers who have what it takes to get on the podium.
“There’s no shortage of sporting talent around the Falkirk area and we want to celebrate this during a special summer of sport in Scotland. We particularly want to hear from youngsters who have had to cope with barriers and difficulties or helped in the success of others as well as themselves.’’
