It is the footbridge that has linked two communities on either side of the River Carron for 121 years.

Now the Dorrator Bridge - known locally as ‘the swing bridge’ - has reached the end of its working life and is in the process of being replaced with a new structure as part of a council-backed scheme to upgrade the footpath network between Camelon and Larbert.

But the historic crossing won’t be forgotten thanks to a community-led project.
