Police searching for missing Bainsford man David Paterson have recovered a body in the Falkirk area.
Formal identification has still to take place and further details are expected later.
A police spokesperson said Mr Paterson’s family are being kept informed of developments.
The 52-year-old was reported missing last Monday evening by his wife, Dr Gayle Paterson, a GP at Tryst Medical Practice in Stenhousemuir.
Investigations later revealed the psychiatric nurse had failed to turn up at the Falkirk care home where he had worked for 15 years.
