Little Lucas Young may only be three weeks old but already he is getting used to being the centre of attention.

For not only is he the fifth generation on mum Ami McGrandles’ side of the family, but the tiny baby has two grans, three great-grans and two great-great grans all doting on him.

Lucas, who weighed 7lb 10oz when he was born on August 6 at Forth Valley Royal, was recently taken to Wheatlands Avenue, Bonnybridge to meet great-great gran Isa Jenkins (91) when all five generations were together for the first time.

Isa’s daughter and Lucas’s great-gran, Nancy Glowacki (66), of Dunipace, is also seen with her elder daughter, new gran Michelle McGrandles (45), of Head of Muir.

Ami (22) lives in Bridge of Allan with partner Chris Young, and hopes to return to her studies in maths and education at Stirling University.

Nancy said: “It was great to have everyone together. It was the first time mum had seen Lucas and she had a lovely time getting to know him.

“He is her first great-great grandchild, but she already has three children, seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.”

But the tiny babe’s extended family doesn’t stop there. His other great-great gran is Annie Glowacki (92), mum to Nancy’s husband Michael, who now lives in Wheatlands Nursing Home in Bonnybridge.

Agnes McGrandles, mum to Michelle’s husband David, is one of his other great-grans and lives in Denny.

On Chris’s side of the family things are a little less complicated with his mum Rosie Young and her mum May Bremner, both of Bridge of Allan, making up the baby’s collection of grannies and great-grans.

He may have a large family tree but Lucas will never have to worry about a shortage of willing babysitters.
