Wendy McLelland was voted pharmacy technician of the year at the fifth annual Scottish Pharmacist Awards, which took place last week in Edinburgh.
The 41-year-old from Head of Muir took home a ‘Chemmy’ statuette - as the awards are known by those in the business.
Wendy, who has worked for the Lyndsay & Gilmour store at Bonnybridge Health Centre since 2002, said: “It was nice to be recognised. I’m ecstatic to have won.”
Fellow Bonnybridge pharmacy worker Emma McGowan travelled through to Edinburgh with Wendy to cheer her on.
Superintendent pharmacist Yvonne Williams said: “We are thrilled that Wendy has won this award - it is thoroughly deserved. She is an extremely hard working and valued member of staff.
“The judges were particularly impressed by her commitment to improving patient care, her involvement in staff training and her assistance with the development of new systems within the company.
“The awards is always a fantastic evening, but this was even more special with Wendy’s win.”
