“All I want is to know Christ and to experience the power of His resurrection, to share in His sufferings, and become like Him in His death, in the hope that I myself will be raised from death to life.” (Philippians 3 v 10,11)

The testimony of the apostle Paul reveals that his great aim in life was to know Jesus and become more like Him.

I heard recently of a survey done in the USA among a group of Christian students.

They were asked various questions to do with their understanding of Jesus Christ and the way they had changed as people as a result of their faith.

The answers were analysed and the conclusion reached was that rather than the students having become more like Jesus,

Jesus had become more like them! It seemed that their understanding of Jesus and the Christian faith had been formed

more by their own personal opinions rather than by what is actually revealed in the Bible.

To find out about the real Jesus and what the Christian faith is really all about, it is necessary to read the bible.

Have you ever read the Gospels or the whole New Testament?

If you are interested in knowing more about Jesus and

the difference He can make in your life, why not try reading say Mark’s Gospel and see if your own opinions of Jesus matchup to the truth!

If you want to know more, you might like to consider taking part in an introductory course like Alpha or Christianity Explored at your local church.
