Passengers on a luxury train trip headed through Falkirk this afternoon.

They were on board Northern Belle excursion from Edinburgh which passed by the town’s Grahamston station.

The train came into service in 2000 but harks back to a bygone era, reflecting the style of the 1930s and Pullman carriages of the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express.

Its six dining carriages are named after great British castles or stately homes. They display marquetry, fabrics and brass fittings specifically commissioned from British craftsmen.

Passengers can enjoy a five-course lunch or dinner accompanied by champagne while being entertained by musicians and a magician.
