Pupils and staff at Grangemouth High School gathered for a presentation of a plaque to mark an affiliation with the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders Association.

Captain Watty Stirling, Major Jim Tilley and Grangemouth branch secretary Jim Healy visited the school to take part in the celebration.

Headteacher Paul Dunn, and school captains Meghann McShane and Louise Lyon were on hand to accept the plaque which will go on display at the school. The Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders was a line infantry regiment of the British Army that was founded in 1881 but amalgamated into the Royal Regiment of Scotland in March 2006. Each member of the regiment as it stands today must try to “foster the regimental spirit amongst all ranks and to maintain connections with old comrades”.
