Mother’s Day is the perfect chance to spend more time with mum but at a Falkirk care home every day is a family affair.

For five sets of mothers and daughters or sons work together at Newcarron Court and the mums were presented with bunches of flowers to mark the special occasion.

Carol Tait, a care assistant and has worked at the home since 2004. She was joined by daughter Stephanie Fisher, who also works as a care assistant, seven years later.

Carol said: “I love working for Bupa and having the added bonus of being able to work alongside my daughter makes my job even better.

“We spend so much time with the residents that we often forget just how lucky we are to work so closely together.

“I feel very fortunate to be able to see my daughter almost every day, and the residents often comment on how nice it is that we are so close.

‘‘I know many mums who don’t get to see their children quite as often as they would like, so it’s great to be able to catch up with Stephanie on a regular basis while we work.”

Alongside Carol and Stephanie, the other pairs are: Liz Wilson and her son Ross, Aileen Munro and her daughter Gemma, Elaine Thompson and her daughter Janette and Mary Taylor and her daughter Adele Wilson, all of whom work as senior care assistants, care assistants or kitchen assistants within the home.
