Bethany Hall

Koffee Time meets today (Thursday) from 10 a.m. till noon. We expect a former regular to be back to visit us. Tickets are beginning to sell for our outing to Largs on the last Wednesday in August. Don’t leave it too long to book your place. We would not want you to miss the trip ‘Doon the Watter’. Regulars are now able to book for a friend. On Sunday we meet at 10.30 a.m. for the Breaking of Bread. At 11.30 a.m. we have a break for refreshments and for the Bible Teaching at 11.50 a.m. when Jack Gillespie is the expected speaker. On Tuesday we meet at 7.30 p.m. for our monthly missionary prayer meeting.

Tai Chi

Tai Chi Qigong is a gentle Chinese excercise system that can help improve your health and wellbeing whatever your age or fitness levels without damaging joints. Benefits can include reduced levels of stress/anxiety, reduce symptoms of back pain, increased flexibility and muscle strength, improved immune system and much more. Classes are on Monday from 6.30-7.20 p.m. in the Dorrator Road church hall. Contact Yvonne on 07824507785 or just come along and join in. Suitable for beginners.

Juniors Club

There are bingo sessions every Tuesday, Friday and Saturday starting at 7.30 p.m. At Tuesday’s session refreshments are available for a small donation. Entertainment tomorrow (Friday) is vocalist Robert Watson with the show starting at 9.15 p.m.

Mariner Bar

Entertainment on Saturday is Fraser’s Disco. There are pool and domino tournaments every Sunday from 2.30 p.m. Admission £1.

Treasure Chest

The weekly draw jackpot in aid of Camelon Juniors FC was not won with the consolation prize going to Kathleen Wells. Next week’s jackpot will be £1000.

Community Centre.

Events in the Tamoufourhill Centre include: Monday – Kay klass dance at 4 p.m. and 4.45 p.m.; Kickbox cardio fitness at 7 p.m.; Tuesday – Pop in for coffee and a chat between 1-3 p.m., Parent and toddler group from noon-2 p.m., Creative industries workshop at 5.30 p.m.; Wednesday – Junior youth club for P1-P3 at 5.45 p.m. and for P4-P7 at 7 p.m.; Thursday – Senior youth club for S1 upwards from 6.30 p.m.; Saturday – Enjoy-a-Ball at 9.30 a.m. and 10.30 a.m.; Sunday – Jujitsu from 3.30-4.30 p.m.

Parish Church

Our regular Sunday service continues at 11.00 a.m. every Sunday, all are made very welcome. Young people of all ages are also very welcome starting off in church with the adults before making their way through to Junior Church for fun and games.

1st Camelon Girls Brigade held their first Parents Night since reforming last year. It proved to be a very successful evening with the girls entertaining the audience with singing, recitation and Maze marching. The officers were delighted to welcome officials from the Girls Brigade local Division as well as fellow officers locally and from Dundee, in addition to the Company’s Chaplin, Rev Stuart Sharp. The girls now have an outing to Edinburgh Zoo to look forward to this coming Saturday to finish off their first year within 1st Camelon Girls Brigade. Next session begins with an enrolment night on Monday, August 24 between 6.30 and 7.30 p.m. at the Brown Street Hall for girls aged five years and upwards. From next Thursday, May 28, the church is introducing their ‘new look’ Thursday evening service. As an alternative/additional service to the usual Sunday morning worship, it promises to offer a change in format to that traditionally anticipated. Why not give it a try? Come along to the church on Dorrator Road at 7.30 p.m. and find out what’s on offer.

Bowling Club

The David Graham Vehicle Repair sponsored five person team event last Sunday had a thrilling climax in the rain. The final was won by Mark Phillips team following an extra end against Steven Wilson who represented Jim Rowan’s team. A huge thanks to our sponsor and to the 60 entrants who over came the dreadful conditions. The John O’Connor sponsored open pairs on Sunday, June 21 already has a large entry. Summer Fayre

Easter Carmuirs Primary School Parent Council is holding a Summer Fayre in the grounds of the school on Saturday, June 6 from 10.30 a.m.-12.30 p.m.
