ILA Cafe

Thanks to everyone who came along to the July Independent Living Cafe in the Sensory Centre. It is open to anyone with an assessed need from social work and anyone with an interest in disability. The next ILA Cafe is today (Thursday) in the Forth Valley Sensory Centre from 12.30-2 p.m. Come along and enjoy a light lunch and a chat with old and new friends. Due to rising costs, we are having to charge £2 per lunch. For further information contact Elma on (01324) 625097. We are now able to help anyone with transport problems. ICT Forum

The Adult ICT Forum in Camelon Local Learning Centre is offering the following courses starting from August onwards: Laptops for Beginners, Laptops for Intermediates, Digital Photography, Internet and Email, PC Maintenance, Labels and E Greetings. These run for a period of six weeks with a duration of two and a half hours per week and cost £35 per course. Bowling Club

The John O’Connor Funeral Director sponsored four person team event was won by John Phillips, Zander Ness, Lloyd and Willie Ramsay. Thanks also go to Lloyd Ramsay who supplied the music for Tom Dow and Tony Beattie to celebrate the event in the lounge. Names still required for the three person team event on Saturday, August 16.

Tai Chi

Relax, have fun and improve your health and wellbeing. Qigong is a gentle exercise system that improves flexibility, balance and feelings of wellbeing based on the same principles of traditional Chinese medicine. Meet new people in a friendly relaxed atmosphere. All you need is comfortable clothing and flat shoes. Why not give it a try? Keep Fit

Camera Club

Meets every Friday in the Scotia Room, Camelon Education Centre from 7-9 p.m.

Juniors Club

There are bingo sessions every Tuesday, Friday and Saturday from 7.30 p.m. At Tuesday’s session refreshments are available for a small donation. Entertainment is by vocalist Craig Swan from 9.15 p.m.

Mariner Bar

Entertainment on Saturday is by Fraser’s Disco. There are pool and domino tournaments every Sunday from 3.30 p.m. Admission £1.

Ochiltree Club

Entertainment on Saturday is by Stevie’s Disco.

Treasure Chest

The weekly draw in aid of Camelon Juniors was won by Robert Bell, who won the consolation prize of £50 with the ticket sold at Tesco Camelon. Next week’s jackpot will be £1000.

Koffee Time

Koffee Time meets from 10 a.m. till noon today (Thursday). We can expect news of holidays spent under the summer sun. News too of our plans for the gifts in August and September from Koffee Time. On Sunday we have the usual pattern of meetings and John Muirhead is expected to bring us the Bible Teaching at 11.50 a.m. We always enjoy the musical treats John brings us and in the last couple of years we have also been blessed by the messages he has shared. On Tuesday, August 12 we meet for prayer at 7.30 p.m. and the epilogue will be given by John Hepburn, one of our more recent additions to the Bethany fellowship.

Community Cafe

Fruit Barra

Held every Tuesday from 10 a.m.-noon in Camelon Community Centre. Come along to get fresh fruit and veg from your local farmer at reasonable prices. We accept Healthy Start Vouchers and there will be information on healthy eating, free recipe cards and tasting sessions.
