Thanks to everyone who came along to the August Independent Living Cafe in the Sensory Centre, Camelon and enjoyed a really interesting talk and quiz from Geoff Bailey of Falkirk Museums. The ILA Cafe is open to anyone with an assessed need from social work and anyone with an interest in disability. The next ILA Cafe is next Thursday, September 4 in the Forth Valley Sensory Centre from 12.30 to 2 p.m. This month we are having a ‘Taste and Try’. Volunteers have promised to bake interesting cakes etc and will provide recipes for those who want to have a go themselves. Come along and enjoy a light lunch, meet old friends and make new ones. Koffee Time meets today (Thursday) from 10 a.m. till noon. Come and spend time with new friends and old. The Thought for the Day this week will be brought by the chaplain from Strathcarron. The expected speaker for our Bible Teaching Hour on Sunday, August 31 at 11.50 a.m. is Norman Milne, always worth hearing. A party from Bethany plan to visit Wallside Grange at 2 p.m. on Monday, September 1. The following evening at 7.30 p.m. is our prayer and Bible Teaching time and our expected speaker is Douglas Young who will bring us a report of his work with Open Air Mission. Advance notice is given of our Annual Conference on Saturday, September 13 from 4 to 7 p.m. Watch this space for further details.

There are bingo sessions every Tuesday, Friday and Saturday from 7.30 p.m. At Tuesday’s sessions refreshments can be obtained for a small donation. Entertainment tomorrow (Friday) is vocalist Elaine Wallace with the show starting at 9.15 p.m.
Entertainment on Saturday is by Fraser’s Disco. There are pool and domino tournaments every Sunday from 3.30 p.m. Admission £1.
The weekly draw in aid of Camelon Juniors was won by Mike Young who took the £50 consolation prize with the ticket sold at Tesco Camelon. Next week’s jackpot will be £550.
This takes place on Saturday in Camelon Juniors Social Club from 8 p.m. till midnight and stars Uncle Red Rockabilly Riot. Tickets, priced £4, are available now from the bar.

After an amazing days bowling in our Junior/Adult tournament last Sunday the winners were Euan Anderson and Gavin Russell. Huge thanks to Kelly Wilson and her team of helpers in the kitchen and on the greens for a very successful day. Ron McArthur from Team Scotland (Bowls) also came along and many of the Juniors had there photo taken with his silver medal from The Commonwealth Games.
