Camelon bus builder seals orders worth £65 million

BUS workers got a New Year boost with the news of deals worth £65 million.

The day after Alexander Dennis Limited (ADL) secured a contract to

supply 120 vehicles to New Zealand, came yesterday's (Wednesday) news that they have won the major part of an order to supply 580 buses

for Stagecoach.

This latest investment of 52 million in the Perth-based transport group's fleet, should bring around 40 million to ADL's order

books, giving security to the company's Camelon plant.

It comes after a downturn in the UK market in the last 18 months which saw ADL extend its overseas hunt for customers.

This got results when the bus builders beat competition from 30

international manufacturers to secure the New Zealand deal.
