A local agency is looking at a healthy future after capturing contracts to supply locum doctors to every NHS hospital in Scotland, England and Wales.
MP Locums began operating in Haypark Business Centre, Marchmont Drive, Polmont, back in 2008 with only three members of staff.
Now, thanks to winning a share of two multi-million pound NHS contracts, it has increased its employee numbers to a dozen and is about to open a branch in Skipton, North Yorkshire.
Directors Susan Park and Carol Langrish oversee the supply of specialist locum doctors to hospitals and infirmaries the length and breadth of the UK thanks to the NHS Framework Contracts and also provide locum GPs to the primary care sector.
Susan said: “We were awarded the NHS Scotland contract again at the start of July and are one of 10 suppliers of locums sharing in a contract valued at £35 million.
“We also won a new contract worth £500 million as one of 32 agencies supplying NHS hospitals in England and Wales with locum doctors.”
Ever-expanding MP Locums can now offer doctors the opportunity to gain experience or focus on their speciality in a wide variety of UK locations.
“We started off supplying GPs,” said Susan. “Then we won our original NHS contract and went from three members of staff to a dozen and counting. We just took on three new members of staff in the last month.
“We are taking advantage of these new contracts to grow the business, opening an office in Skipton. It’s an exciting time for us.”
MP Locums offer temporary and longer term placements in all medical disciplines and welcome both newly qualified and experienced locum doctors.
