Installers in Scotland will be able to get renewables training at a new academy.
The Plumb Center initiative in Bankside, Falkirk, was officially opened last week by energy minister Fergus Ewing MSP (centre), watched by Robert Beagley (left) and Tim Pollard from the company.
It will provide training for people working with heat pumps, biomass boilers and solar thermal. As well as offering full accredited BPEC and HETAS courses, it boasts working displays and training rigs from leading manufacturers.
The minister said: “Renewable heating systems are a vital part of the Scottish economy helping to both reduce CO2 emissions and provide respite to people hard-pressed by energy costs, particularly those located off the gas grid.
“The domestic Renewable Heat Incentive, set to be launched this spring, will help transform the market and Plumb Center’s training centre in Falkirk can play a vital role supporting this initiative.”
Mr Pollard said Plumb Center wants to help installers prepare for the future with “top notch training”.
