It’s been a hard road but asphalt production company Aggregate Industries has now marked its 10th anniversary in business.
Since opening in 2003 the Grangemouth firm has produced over 600,000 tonnes of asphalt, enough to build 400,000 miles of road, and has supplied prestigious projects such as the construction of the M9 and M74 motorways and the Helix in Falkirk.
Councillor David Alexander recently returned to the site, which he opened a decade earlier, to join the celebrations of 10 years of successful and safe operations.

In January, the site became an Express Asphalt business, highlighting the plant’s capacity to mix small loads of asphalt, and will now focus on supplying customers working on road maintenance within the utility and infrastructure sector, allowing the firm to continue to contribute to the local economy and help to keep local traffic and services working.
Aggregate staff have also volunteered over 50 hours of their time to help Callendar Estate and the Bespoke Community Development Company.
