Family butcher Malcolm Allan has produced low fat sausages to keep Scotland’s slimmers happy.

The healthy recipe used to produce its new pork or steak bangers means that as well as tasting great they come in at 2.5 checks on the official Scottish Slimmers Weight Loss Plan.

Managing director Gordon Allan said the firm was delighted to work with Scottish Slimmers to supply the ‘missing link’.

He added: “We’re very conscious of the need for the Scottish diet to improve. As a responsible food producer we are responding to the government’s priority for food providers to offer healthier alternatives.”

Sandy Fleming of Scottish Slimmers said: “We’ve been crying out for a healthier, low fat sausage and due to such high demand and gaps in the market following the success of the Malcolm Allan low fat steak Lorne, more than happy to partner with Malcolm Allan to make this happen.”
