A Falkirk dentist is opening the biggest practice of its kind in Scotland.
Charles Macdonald and his business partner Gordon Morson are investing £1.8 million in their new dental premises in Alloa.
The pair are moving their firm to a purpose-built facility which will allow them to increase their current 10,000 patients by another 2000 to meet growing demand in the area.
Macdonald and Morson Dental Care treats private and NHS patients with the practice currently employing four dentists. Seven additional staff are being recruited, including two more dentists, to take the total workforce to 30.
Charles is a former pupil of Falkirk High and was chairperson of Falkirk Round Table. He is a lifelong fan of Falkirk FC and is currently the vice-chairman of Falkirk Football Community Foundation, the charitable arm of the club.
He said: “Building premises from scratch is allowing us to expand significantly, and increase our service provision. Widening access to dental care is key to tackling Scotland’s poor record on oral health.”
