Two local butchers showed how to make the most of sausage and haggis and win awards in the process.
Patricks of Camelon picked up three silver medals and one gold in the 2014 Scottish Sliced Sausage Awards plus evaluation, while Thomas Johnston of Falkirk took a silver.
Their meat innovation items were evaluated by Scottish Craft Butchers (SCB), who sought products that deviated away from the traditional Lorne sausage to make a square sausage with a difference.
There were also awards for those who came up with special products including haggis.
In total Scottish butchers sumbitted 100 sausage and 121 haggis products.
Patricks took gold for its haggis en-croute, and silver for duck Balmoral with pepper sauce, breakfast haggis olives and haggis kebabs. Thomas Johnston’s award was for its savoury pork sliced sausage.
At the Glasgow awards presentation, SCB president Ian Faulds said: “Own recipe meat products are extremely important in attracting customers to our butchers’ shops.”
