A popular hotel has been rewarded for its work in the community at an awards ceremony.

The Macdonald Inchyra Hotel and Spa in Polmont won the Corporate Social Responsibility category at the company’s recent UK-wide annual presentation.

It comes after Angela Constance, Cabinet Secretary for Training, Youth and Employment, commended the hotel for its work with local young people who aspire to break into the hospitality industry. This initiative was a key factor in the Inchyra winning the award.

For over a year, bosses at the four-star hotel have been working with partners to offer young people an opportunity to have pre-apprenticeship training.

They have also worked on a range of community projects including fundraising for Carrongrange School and tree planting with Polmont Rotary.

Brett Ingle, Inchyra general manager, said: “Over the last year the team has done a tremendous amount of work to support the people of Polmont, Falkirk and beyond. It’s a real honour to have that commitment recognised.”
