A Falkirk solicitor is preparing for his retirement after serving the town for almost 50 years.
Robert Stirling, known as Steve, started out in Falkirk in 1967, working with A and JC Allan and Co. in its Newmarket Street office.
But in 1977, he set up his own practice, Stirling & Co, beside Falkirk Steeple, and has handled countless legal matters for his clients.
Mr Stirling (73) said: “I have very much enjoyed my career and all the people I have met.
“I have enjoyed being of service to people of Falkirk.
“I’ve found Bairns very friendly and down to earth.
“They have made working in Falkirk very enjoyable and it is only very reluctantly that I am having to take my leave of my clients and colleagues.”
Born in Glasgow, Mr Stirling now lives in Stirling with his wife Dorothy, a freelance artist.
The couple have three grown-up children and are looking forward to the birth of their third grandchild later this month.
Mr Stirling, who is retiring at the end of October, said he was looking forward to the work-free years ahead.
