Top performer Redeem has catapulted into the UK’s top 50 fastest growing private companies.

It was placed 41st in the Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track 100 list announced this week.

Set up in Falkirk in 1991, Redeem refurbishes and resells or recycles IT and electronic equipment, including mobile phones, tablets, MP3 players, digital cameras and printer cartridges.

The firm is one of only six Scottish companies to make the list which ranks Britain’s 100 private companies with the fastest-growing sales over the last three years.

Fast Track has recognised the UK’s top performers since 1997.

Claes Svensson, Redeem’s chief executive, said recognition as one of the top 50 fastest growing private companies in the UK was testament to the hard work and entrepreneurship of the core team and staff.

He added: “The Fast Track 100 is well known for fostering connections between the companies on their list: we are looking forward to networking with our fellow listed companies, to exchanging ideas and opportunities.”

Redeem is now a WEEE (waste electrical and electronic equipment) recycler of used electronics for mobile network operators and corporate clients in nine European countries.

It specialises in making corporate social responsibility easy for their clients and is a leader in driving sustainable business growth on the back of the environmental and economic benefits of electronics recycling.

Re-used electronic items are security and theft checked and data cleansed before being sold.

Redeem has 150 employees in Scotland, England and Hong Kong and its international clients include mobile network operators, wholesalers, retailers, charities and direct consumers, such as 02 and Sainsbury’s

Working with Redeem, O2 Recycle achieved the world record for the largest number of mobile phones to be recycled in one day.
