Forth Valley College aims to celebrate its 50th anniversary in style ... and an invite has gone out to former students and staff to join in.

The milestone is being marked during this academic year with a special event taking place on Friday, April 25.

College officials are also keen to build up its alumni database and want to hear from as many graduates as possible, whether they attended the previously named Falkirk Technical College or Falkirk College of Technology, which first opened its doors on September 6, 1963, as well as those who attended Forth Valley College, which came into being with the merger of Falkirk and Clackmannan Colleges in August 2005.

Forth Valley principal Dr Ken Thomson said: “We are extremely proud of the history and heritage of our Falkirk campus and how it has evolved since the early ’60s.

“We would like to hear from as many former graduates as possible in the coming weeks and hope they will come along to mark the occasion.”
