Companies line up to support Falkirk awards

Successful companies across the district are backing The Falkirk Herald Business Awards 2011.

This week, we are delighted to unveil the sponsors for the individual categories, many of them giving their support over a number of years.

Once again, The Royal Bank of Scotland is the main sponsor of the awards. As well as sponsoring the Best Large Business (over 25 employees) category, it will select an Outstanding Achievement of the Year winner from all those who have entered.

Forth Valley College is also on board again as strategic partners.

An opportunity to recognise business excellence, the awards have a category to suit every company, from the sole entrepreneur to the large multi-national.

They give firms a platform to show what they are doing best, be it designing innovative products or promoting sustainable, green practices, having excellent sales and marketing or being the best for their size of workforce.

Thanking all those who have signed up as sponsors, Richard Bell, managing director of Johnston (Falkirk) Ltd, publishers of The Falkirk Herald, said: “We are delighted at the level of support our business awards has once again attracted. This demonstrates a real commitment from businesses in the area, not only to the awards but to ensuring that Falkirk district remains at the forefront of the country’s economic recovery from recession.

“Everyone involved with The Falkirk Herald Business Awards is confident that this endorsement from sponsors will be matched by the high standards of entries for the competition itself. We look forward to receiving and judging these in the coming months.”

A new category this year is Outstanding Restaurant of the Year – and readers will have their chance to get involved in selecting the winner. Discerning diners can recommend their favourite eating places across the district, with the three receiving the most votes going forward to the judging section.

The Falkirk Herald will present a Lifetime Achievement Award to an individual who is adjudged to have made a lasting contribution to the district’s economy and business community.

Once again, the awards will be presented at a gala dinner on Thursday, November 3, in the Macdonald Inchyra Grange Hotel, Polmont.

To ensure you are at the business event of the year, start preparing your entry now.
