A local business has been inspired to raise money for charity - after reading The Falkirk Herald.

Chris Allen, who runs Enjoy-a-ball, was touched by a story which we published recently about Laurieston mum Melanie Grieg, who took on a European 4X4 rally to raise money for Help for Heroes.

Chris said: “I read the story about Melanine and thought what she is doing is fantastic.

“I bumped into Melanine and asked if I could help.

“I took buckets, tins and wristbands into all our classes and throughout June the whole team raised money for Help for Heroes.

“Everywhere we went, we took the bins with us, and asked people to support us by giving us any spare change. As a small local business we hope that other businesses will now also come forward and raise lots of money for such a great charity.”

Chris raised £500.

Chris started Enjoy-a-ball in 2007, and now has 11 centres across Falkirk and Cumbernauld.

His team also goes into nurseries to deliver Enjoy-a-ball and host birthday parties at the weekend.

In a week Enjoy-a-ball can see up to 1000 children.

This summer Enjoy-a-ball is running camps in Falkirk town centre from 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.
