Burst water main causes holiday traffic headaches

Scottish Water customers and motorists fell foul of a burst water main in Larbert this morning.

The fault happened in the A9 Stirling Road near the bridge that crosses the M876 just before 9am and workmen were soon on the scene to deal with the problem. A contraflow has been put in place to deal with the traffic congestion.

According to Scottish Water repairs are expected to take some time and they apologise to customers in the Larbert area who may experience loss of water supply, low water pressure or discoloured water.

A Scottish Water spokesman said: “Supplies will be restored as soon as possible.”
