Almost 60 brethren and visitors were at Lodge Polmont No 793 for the first meeting of the new session on Wednesday, September 10. To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the outbreak of the First World War, a short ceremony was held which included the reading of the relevant extract from the meeting held on September 12, 1914. The commemoration concluded with a minute’s silence. Thereafter the brethren present were treated to a fine rendering of the First Degree ceremony by the RWM, John Curry, and his team. There were visitors from a number of sister lodges present and they received a warm welcome from Lodge Polmont members and were asked to convey fraternal greetings on their next visit to their own lodges. The next meeting will be on Wednesday, September 24 at 7.30 p.m. when the business of the evening will be Minutes, Accounts and a Second Degree. All qualified brethren and visitors will be made most welcome.
