Step Forth

Parish Church

Last Sunday, Rev. Murdo Campbell led the morning worship at 11 a.m. During the service our thoughts and prayers were with the family and friends of Ena Jarvie who passed away suddenly last week. This Sunday the minister will conduct worship at the usual time of 11 a.m. during which the baptism will take place of Samuel, son of Lorna and Jonathan Duke. The monthly evening service at 6.30 p.m. will not take place this Sunday. This will be replaced by the special Annual Bereavement Service led by Ian Baillie on Sunday, May 10 at 3 p.m. Tonight (Thursday) the Congregational Prayer Time takes place in the Small Hall at 7.45 p.m. The next Open Door (Enquirers) course for those interested in exploring the Christian Faith with a view to church membership, or wishing to revisit the basics of faith, will commence on Wednesday in the vestry at 7.30 p.m. The latest date for all articles for the next issue of Bright Lights is Sunday, May 10. Articles can be submitted anytime from now by e-mail to the editorial team at brightlights@brightonschurch.org.uk Christian Aid will take place from May 10-16. The Social Committee is organising a free fun quiz night on Friday, May 15 at 7 p.m. Tea, coffee and cake will be served. There will be prizes for the winning team. A collection will be taken for Christian Aid. Door duty this Sunday will be by Margaret Scott, Andy Gillespie, Malcolm Little, Gordon Scott, Jessie Wallace and Jean Meek. On crèche duty will be Alison Cassells, Lesley Mann and Evelyn Smyth.
