Step Forth

Like to walk but not on your own? Want to get fit but don’t know where to start? Why not join our walking group and meet new friends. Walk leaves the Grange centre every Thursday at 10 a.m. We now have a new walk leader for this walk. Metafit Class

A Metafit Falkirk class is on every Thursday at Brightons Community Hall from 8.15 p.m. All welcome, no need to book. For more information call 07739 718 361.

Parish Church

Last Thursday the minister, Rev. Murdo Campbell, led the worship at the Braes Churches Holy Week Joint Service at 7 p.m. This was followed by a time of fellowship of tea, coffee and hot cross buns in the hall for the visitors and congregation. Last Sunday, Brent Haywood conducted the Easter Sunday All Age Service at 11 a.m. and James Elliott, representing the youth, read the lesson. Earlier on the Sunday morning there was an Easter Celebration Breakfast in the Rankine Hall. This Sunday, Ian Bailie, Session Clerk, will lead and preach at the 11 a.m. service. The Sunday Schools, Triple S, Flaim and Wait for It will meet as usual at 10.50 a.m. and the crèche continues as normal also at 10.50 a.m. The Boys’ Brigade Anchor Boys Parents’ Night will be held this Tuesday at 6.15 p.m. The Kirk Session will meet this Tuesday (April 29) at 7.45 p.m. in the Church. There will the usual prayer time for all elders prior to this meeting at 7.15 p.m. in the Small Hall. All articles for the next issue of Bright Lights should be with the editorial team by next Sunday, May 4. These can be sent by email to brightlights@brightonschurch.org.uk. Door duty this Sunday will be by Alan Macfarlane, Alistair McDonald, James Falconer, Charles Lees, Richard Baird and Andy Gillespie. The crèche will be manned by Elspeth McCallum, Dorothy McDonald and Lesley Mann.
